Okay, I got my wheels and tires bought, mounted and balanced now, so I won't have to scramble come winter time. Now I'm hoping you can all help me decide on my best option for storage.

For the past few years with my Subaru winter wheels, I'd been letting most all of the air out, putting them in black trash bags and hanging them on hooks under the deck (see pic with dog). I was going to do that again this year for the C's winter wheels/tires, but the more I've been reading about tire care, I'm realizing being under the deck during the hot summer months is not so good for them.

So here's another option. I'm going to store them in large cardboard boxes (2 per box, separated by wood between), and keeping them in a corner in our climate controlled downstairs kitchen. I'm thinking that has to be a lot better for them. But I'm wondering if I should still put them in black trash bags and still let most of the air out, before storing them in the boxes. Or does being in a climate controlled environment negate those extra steps.

I'm curious as to what you think is best and why. Thanks.

Maybe less than ideal, but what I do is stack them and cover. Works if you have the room. I always wash and wax them soon after taking them off.

Thanks for the reply, Mendel. I think they'll be fine in the boxes, but I'll probably still let out most of the air.
