Odd widget on 2021 Prius

    I just bought my first Prius Prime prius button.JPG , and love most about it except the back up beep. Will fix that.
    But there is this odd device mounted in the lower left panel. I can't see where the wires go and I haven't pushed that blue button. Has anyone seen this device before?
    This should be a enjoyable forum. Hope I haven't broken any rules yet.

    Google Lens says it might be a Karr alarm, probably installed by a previous dealership. Safe to remove if you're handy.

    It is definitely an aftermarket device added by a previous owner.

    It seems to be a KARR alarm from many pictures posted on line. Dealer installed on many vehicles to impose monthly payments. No payment, vehicle disabled by dealer. This car seemed to be a leased return and auction, only one remote, no previous owner information. Probably ignore it for now. Thanks for the tips!
