Obscure paint jobs?

I see lots of prii on the road and have never seen a custom paint job, although I have considered one myself. When I bought my '04 Prius in late '03 that in itself was a statement and I stood out from the crowd. Now-a-days Prii are all over the place and I sometimes have to look inside the car in a parking lot to make sure I am going to enter my own car!

 

If I didn't like the color of my magnetic gray so much, I would paint mine a bright copper.

 

I was planning on getting a custom paint job if I got a black Prius. My idea was to have flames in the front of the car and then morph them into lighting bolts in the back. I thought of that to symbolize the gas and electric parts of the car. Fire for the ICE and lighting for the electric motor.

 

I considered having my cousin paint those green flames with the leaves on the front of my Prius and down the side. B) I think it would piss a lot of people off, and thats what I live for.

I saw a salsa red with orange-yellow translucent flames that went from the nose to the front of the driver door. The flames were hard to see because they were only visible when the sun hit them from a perticuar angle.

 

I modified mine to celebrate my LOVE for The Ohio State University....gets a LOT of attention!

I have seen in catalogues removable plastic flames. I'm pondering something distintive too.

BTW MacDude: Those leaves are slick, especially on the white. We have a perfect canvas to work with in the Super White (aka the best color....)

wow. i love it. i freakin love it. i want to exchange my magnetic grey for a white one and do this. love it.

 

This would actually be pretty easy to do. Go to a professional sign place that does police cars, delivery trucks, etc. They could make up the leaves on vinyl decals, and apply them for you. They should last the life of the car, and could be removed (although there may be some paint uncoloration) later.

 

Found this website. Some neat stickers to customize your ride and prices didn't look all that bad either!
