So here are the details... In the next few months I will most likely be getting a 2012 Prius. However, in preperation for this I wanted to get the OBDLink Bluetooth Scan tool as seen in the link below.

ScanTool.net LLC - OBDLink Bluetooth OBD Interface Scan Tool - ScanTool.net

This way I could tinker with the program a bit on my current car and get it working the way I want it before I get my new Prius. That.. and I want something to make my drive in my current car a little more exciting for the last few months... lol

I have experience with programming as well as a design art background. So reading about the torque app it seems that you can customize your layout and such... Something I would looooove to do.

So I want to get it, but if I did get it I would use it with my Motorola Droid X phone and if I get a Prius from my understanding the Entune software uses your phone via bluetooth. Granted it said it had a USB option.. Soo my question.. would I be able to use my phones bluetooh with the scantool and the USB with Entune? And without slowdown or disruption?

If anyone has some insight I would appreciate it.

    Thanks!

You could get the Torque app from Android Market and use it with OBDLink Bluetooth.

There are 63 custom PIDs to import so you can see the hybrid specific gauges like ScangaugeII but with better user interface.

Right usb, and that's what I want to do. But do you foresee any problems with the app working in conjunction with Entune?

My DroidX will be running both Entune and torque at the same time.

I see your concern now. From the videos I have seen, when you connect the phone to Entune, the screen becomes white and I guess you'll be unable to use the phone. The control is only possible through the Entune head unit with the limited app supported. That's my understanding.

Well i reached out to Toyota and they responded with a "ask your phone manufacturer" response. All I really want to know is if Entune will allow other apps to run simultaneously on the phone while its streaming to the head unit... either via usb or bluetooth.

    sad face.
