Planning to install a dash cam that’s powered via the OBD2 Port as it has a parking mode feature in which the camera is always on to record and upload via cellular any incidents while parked.

Does the power source from the OBD2 port come directly from the 12V Battery? Do you guys think it’ll be fine without negatively impacting the Hybrid Battery.

Should have no effect on the hybrid battery. Keep in mind your camera will be powered by the 12v battery, and the 12v battery in a prius is pretty small compared to a standard ICE car. Doesn't the Gen 1 use a S34, which is the smallest of the two sizes available for the Gen 2?

I'm sure the current draw for the camera is small, but it's just something to keep in mind.

Sounds good, I think it'll be okay. Previous owner put in a AGM Battery instead of the standard batt.

The standard (as in the OEM) battery is an AGM.

Keep an eye on the battery voltage in the mornings before startup at least every week. Acquire a 4 Amp AGM smart charger so you can do regular overnight top-up charges to keep the battery in good shape. Charge it up if it drops below 12.5 V.

It might be cheaper to get a lower priced camera and a hardwire kit. Just wire it to a circuit which is always powered, and you'll have the same end result.
