The OBD-II port in the Prius is located immediately above the parking brake pedal so my insurance provider’s parasitic tracking device physically obstructs the foot’s access to the pedal:

I’m surprised that the insurance provider didn’t even mention this hazard; they know exactly what kind of car they’ve asked me to install it in. Surely other people must have encountered this situation?

    Get a short OBD-II extension cable with a low-profile right-angle plug?

Good idea, thanks! That does the trick.

Or change insurance provider. Ours is blue tooth and mounts on the windshield.

Why can I not shake this image of Flo with blue teeth, stuck to your windshield?
