I saw a blue and white 2013-2014 Prius Police car sitting at Queens Blvd. It was cute looking vs. the standard, chunky-looking USA-made cop car. I'll have to take a snap when I have a camera. Years ago it was a Prius taxi which have now become common here in Manhattan. Prius Rulz' all others drool.
I've seen NYPD and Traffic Enforcement in Prius for a while around here. I've also seen Chevy Volts in NYPD and Sanitation guise as well.
I guess I haven't been paying attention….until I bought my own Prius. I am slinging my pocket camera about to make sure I get a Prius Piccie. What I really want to see is a Police Prius C! That would be a cute cop car. Cheers, CapeAnn
This is not NEW City and NYPD is buying prii-s since 2007 like DOT, Buildings etc There are still GenII-s running around and certainly 2012+ GenIII-s I am not aware any visible change btw my 2012 and newer ... what is new for 2014 ???
So very cute !!!! Only nice people would pull over. Hhaha. Poor little prius police. I've seen plently of Prii as parking partrol, but not as highway partrol.
If you read the cars in the pics, they are NYPD Traffic vehicles. That's different from normal cops, highway etc around here. And the last pic of the Volt with the orange stripe is a NYC Sanitation vehicle. NYC DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) has been using Prius since the first generation. They have also had many civic hybrids, hyrid malibus, honda insights (first gen), and probably more I am forgetting in their fleet.
