I replaced the digitizer on my 2010 Prius.
All was going well until I decided to plug it back into the Prius.
I lost the black connector that holds the ribbon to the circuit board. I can't hook the touchscreen back up until it can be properly secured.
I know this is a pain for lots of people, and I was wondering if anyone had a link to a replacement part.
I have attached a picture of what I think it looks like. I need the flat piece that goes above the ribbon to hold it in place. Thanks for the help.

Ribbon cable connectors like the one in your picture are available from several manufacturers, but there are many styles and sizes, and you haven’t given us much to go on.

What is the width of the ribbon cable and how many wires does it have? How many contacts are there on the circuit board, and what is their arrangement and spacing (pitch)? Do you need only the cover or a complete connector? If you have any part of the connector, does it have any markings? Could you share actual photos of the cable, connector, and circuit board, ideally with a ruler for scale?

I don't know what a "digitizer" is, but I do know what a touch screen is... Can you clarify your terminology? Random wires/ribbon cables in a car aren't an easy thing to buy because they're associated with a larger part, either a specific wiring harness, or one of the parts on either end of the ribbon cable might be sold with that cable if it's not sold seperately.

But the easiest and cheapest fix for this is finding a 2010 or similar year Prius at a wrecking yard where you can remove that part yourself and they'll charge you next to nothing for it. If you can't do that option, you'll have to give lots of money to the usual money hungry vultures who will only sell the the part w/included ribbon cable.

Or you can follow @Elektroingenieur advice and once we have more info we can start sourcing ribbon cable suppliers for you, but sometimes these can be proprietary and might not fit even though online it seemed like it would work when you bought it.

A touch screen is a screen with a digitizer over it. The screen displays things, and the digitizer detects your finger and digitizes the position into x,y coordinates so the software knows where you are touching.

"black connector that holds the ribbon to the circuit board" from the digitizer?

"attached a picture of what I think it looks like"
What you think it looks like? Maybe a pic of the actual connector since its still not installed.

That's a good description for the old timers... I remember the very first ones in the 1980's. But at this point in history the younger generations just refer to all this as a touch screen...

But I guess it still matters, if somebody's goes out, and they choose to keep the LCD panel and just replace the digitizer, and make sure their post is clear about what they replaced.
