Anyone know why the non-NAV vehicles don't have a maintenance screen? I don't see why this is related to the NAV and not included. (I have a #6 BI).

The nav as its own ECU. The maintenance option is built into that same ECU.

    Side note:

    The NAV option Provides:

Calendar (which gets it's time/date from GPS)
    Maintenance
    Bluetooth Phone
    Navigation
If equipped - Backup Camera (with or without self park)

Well that's a bummer. It sure would be nice if Toyota would include that in a software upgrade. Shouldn't be that hard.

BTW, the forum title is spelled wrong: It's 'Maintenance. :p

Now that I actually have the car, I'm paying more attention. On that note, reading the owners manual there are lots of errors.

Maybe we should start an owners manual correction thread?

I chose non-Nav to save my budget. But now I love more the navigation feature.

I did not know that the calendar got its info from the GPS. That means you could use it to set the dash clock! Though it should happen automatically if you have a GPS.

I don't think the calendar gets its info (date) from the GPS. The calendar function is integrated into the NAV unit, but is a separate function.

It would be really nice if Toyota came up with an aftermarket nav, and/or maintenance system. I know I would look to purchase it.
