I am trying to use the NHW11 Prius inverter to get three phase AC power for a school project. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about this I am trying to put small amount DC power through it and use an oscilloscope to see if I get any output. There is very little technical documentation that I have been able to find so any help would be wonderful. The reason why I am trying to use the Prius inverter is becaues of the price.

techinfo.toyota.com which is a subscription website.

Look for the 2001 New Car Features Manual to obtain a "theory of operations".

Does this include signal traces like we see in the maintenance manual?

    Hi Bob,

No, but NCF will provide an overview. You're right, the OP would also have to look at detail buried within the repair manual.

Well, sorta. There are three control signals to each motor's
rack and some scope traces in the service manual, but that won't
entirely help you generate the right signals. It's not your
typical six-input trapezoidal modulation; one side of each leg
has to be either high or low and there's no "neither" state.
    .
Google up "space vector modulation" and "inverter". Someday I
might have a page up about this, but it's a long way from formed.

For your initial study, you can refer Figure 2.14 on the page-13 of following article.

It's for the NHW20 Prius, and the NHW11 one doesn't have the boost converter nor the A/C inverter.
