    hi everyone...
well, after some months of looking, yesterday I bought a 2005 Prius, blue, with 9,278 miles on it. already added 120 miles! Got it from a dealer. apparently it was the first and only prior owner's 3rd car.

its a plain vanilla Prius, no fancy GPS package or anything. One thing I am puzzled by is that the CD player doesnt seem to have a way to switch from track to track. am i missing something?

    Cheers

    Congratulations.

    And welcome.

Sorry I can't help with the CD player question.

I use up and down arrows near the bottom of the upper left Steering wheel control, but I have a 2009 with everything.

The other is the < SEEK TRACK > button next to the volume button (it's in the picture that Jimbo posted above at the extreme right.)

2005 with only 9278 miles on it?! Wow, I thought I did well with 2007 and 13K. Bet you got a heck of a deal on a basically new car. Congrats! Whoever the first owner was sure didn't get their money's worth driving it so little. Oh well, your gain!

Great, thanks! I found these controls. for some reason i thought i would find these track controls in the graphic display. but they are conveniently located next to the steering wheel anyway!

Holy crap... I'm envious. I just bought an 05 last week with 85k miles! It's the only Gen2 I could find within 200 miles that was a) under $13k and b) under 100k miles. I do not know if I just live in a bad area for used Prii (Columbus, OH) or if I just had bad luck or what, but most of the used cars I found on ebay/craigslist/autotrader had over 100k miles... Maybe they were used as rentals or company cars.

Few people would pay extra to get a hybrid unless they needed it, because they drive a great many miles. (Unless they need a 'green' status vehicle) I have 26,000 miles on my 09, I have owned 10 months. If you are just going to park it, a Smart car makes more sense.

The Prius takes a while to get up to full economy, if your commute takes under 10 minutes, it is not doing it's best.
