    Hi Everyone,

It's so great to have such a wonderful Prius community to share with and learn from! I really appreciate the intelligence and maturity of all the members in this forum.

I came from a 2005 Subaru Outback XT (250hp Turbo 2.5L) with 15mpg (on my work commute) of Premium Unleaded, so moving up to a Prius requires quite an adjustment in gas pedal expectations. I have 700 miles on my Prius and have averaged 47 mpg so far. Missing the effortless power of my Subaru, but loving the versatility, gas mileage, expected low maintenance, and high-tech nature of the Prius :p

Anyhow, here's some pics of my two-week new Classic Silver 2011 Prius Five w/ Nav, illuminated door sills, and floor mats!

Welcome to Prius Chat, and congrats on the new ride! Looks like you got a IV or V model. Good choice in that! When I got mine I wasn't so sure about the hybrid thing, so I bought the bare bones base model. At least you won't have to live with those regrets. Let us know how the car treats you, and we are always here to help.. Unfortunately I think you bought at the wrong time of year, but if you have been hanging around here a little bit then you should know the gas mileage dips slightly in the winter months. You can still get 50mpg, but it will be harder than in the spring/summer/fall.

Select PWR mode for a while to ease the transition.

    Congrats!

Welcome. While I'm sure you miss the power, you probably won't miss replacing the turbo or head gasket.

Nice photos! You can tell you're from CA with all the greenery and Christmas lights in the background. My front yard looks like a wintery dormant wasteland... Welcome Aboard!

Congrats!! Thats exactly what I'll be buying before the end of the month. Level V nav and classic silver. What color interior did you get? Were you able to get the incentives and under invoice? I live in so cal and i'm still working the price with a couple of dealers over the internet. Plus I really want to sell my other car first and avoid trading in..

great choice! :) I have the dark gray interior. I've posted some more pictures in the newbie picture sticky thread here:

I bought mine around Thanksgiving at Toyota Sunnyvale for almost exactly invoice (Nav, lighted door sills, and 5-piece floor mats). That's after the Toyota rebates. Toyota Sunnyvale is a low-pressure no-haggle dealer with upfront pricing, so I'm really happy with the purchase experience.

By the way, I should never have bought the 5-piece mats, since I almost immediately replaced them with a different set (Toyota rubber cargo mat for the trunk, Husky Weatherbeaters for the interior).

What I encountered is that dealers are very willing to negotiate on Prius Two's and Three's, but much less willing to budge on the Four's and Five's (because their allocations are much smaller). Also, I think they feel that Four and Five buyers are more fanatical about the car, so they have a bit more leverage.

Good luck! Right now is a great time to buy the 2011's!
