Hi all. Lifetime car guy always been curious about the Prius. Been driving a gen 1 Miata for the last ten years. Picked up an ‘07 w/114k from a local independent shop that specializes in them. Tested battery, etc. I’m a drummer, gigged two days after purchasing. Awesome amount of room! I could buy more drums!!
Off on the real test, road trip from central California coast to Las Vegas. It’s acquitted itself well. 80 mph for long stretches, long mountain switchback roads. Temps in the 110 range! Never missed a beat. 47 mpg despite the abuse. No oil used. The JBL system sounds great. Currently playing Buena Vista Social Club. I think we’re gonna do well together! And, my wife likes it!

Congrats... I remember when I got my 07 back in Jan 2012 w/only 104K on it. I went crazy learning everything I could about it, but much like your car it got boring because there was never anything wrong with. But the past month I've been learning how to rebuild my friends 05 Battery Pack, which overheated. My 07 is now at 230K and redoing my own battery pack is fast approaching. Always better to work on them sooner than later, or so it seems. I've learned so much in the past month!

The car sounds like a winner. Which shop specializes in the prius up there?

Tribe Auto. They’re primarily sales, but Marcus the owner is a real Prius geek. He’all do the led capacitor fix, rebuild and balance the batteries etc. When I first went in to check it out, his response was “how much do you want to know about Priuses?”. He tests the batteries on them before putting them fs. Good guy to deal with.

I see in your sig that you're a Miata guy. Here's mine in the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca for the 25th anniversary party Mazda put on.

That's a very nice NA Miata. I just recently got my NB. It's a blast to drive. I removed the door windows recently because my motors broke and I couldn't get myself to pay Mazda a fortune for them. I paid $1500 for my car

Mine's got crank windows. Light and simple. Deliberate choice. Wanted as little powered stuff as possible. It does have power mirrors. You buy used, you takes what you can find. I bought it ten years ago w/42k on it. Just passed 94k.

Moss Motors has them for $149.00
I’d probably go used. Got motor and switches for my Audi at a breakers. Just test them out before you do much work with them.
