Hi All: Second post actually but 1st introduction. My wife and I are from Canada, and had a 2014 Prius C with only 6,500 kms on it. As you can tell by my Avatar picture of it, "Tweety" isn't doing so well anymore. We luckily T boned a driver of a Corolla who blew through a stop sign at about 60 to 80 kph. We had the right of way, and were going the speed limit of 60 kph. I say luckily because a fraction of a second sooner and he would have slammed into my wife's drivers door. Other guy had no passenger. My wife may have been killed at the speed he was going and I wouldn't have done much better probably sitting in the passenger seat.

Looking for a 2015 Prius C now once they come out, and ultimate next Prius after that we'll be getting is the next gen one. I'm hoping the next gen regular Prius will have AWD, but whatever one they offer with AWD, if less than on all models, that will be the one we get.

We both loved it for the short time we had it, especially the great MPG and bright colours, and are thankful we lived to buy another one (soon anyways) :)

My gosh! Thank heavens you and your loved one are ok. That looks like a serious wreck!!

So you are sticking with a prius c? Why not try a lift back on the retry since you'll be getting a new car from the other guys insurance it seems.

Lift back might handle those prairie winds a little better than the C?

    Take care.

It is pretty much always windy around here. No problem though until the winter and the deep snow comes. We really do have winter here about 5 months a year total. I must be crazy to stay :) I'm guessing you mean what I'm calling the regular Prius when you say lift back. We'd still be responsible for the extra cost between the C and the lift back (regular) which would be close to about a $7,000 difference with taxes etc. With the next gen Prius so close we are going to wait for that one to justify the extra cost, and get the AWD version I'm hoping for too. Prairie winters are pretty crazy normally around the centre of Canada where we are.

By the way what kind of bike do you ride??? I currently have a 09 V-Strom 650ABS and my Prius C gets about the same MPG as that one. I can do better on the Strom if I baby it like I usually do with the Prius though. In the Spring I am planning on getting the Honda NC750X. That one is rated at 68 mpg US, or 81.6 mpg Canadian. In the US I think you still only get the NC700X which is rated at 64 mpg US. Pretty impressive that going up from a 700 to a 750 also boosted MPG by 4. Then my bike will always get better MPGs than my car.

Sounds good. And yeah those winters sound brutal! I was raised in Quebec but left at age 18 so I know a little about the crappy and cold weather ;)

    I now ride a 2013 yamaha FZ1.

Had a 2014 DRZ 400 Supermoto prior, was a great hooligan / back roads bike but got a little dicey on the freeway commute so traded it in on the FZ1....

Had a 2013 BMW GSA 90th anniv. Edition prior that I totaled after 4 months, was my dream bike...
