Hey, everyone! We are loving our 2017 Prius 2. We didn't plan on buying a hybrid but when my wife gave her 08 Corolla to our daughter she spotted it at the dealer and fell in love with it.

Just went over 16,000 miles..we just put over 5,000 on her as we drove to/from Maine from Colorado to celebrate Dad's 85th birthday. NO issues except with the driver's windshield wiper. I noticed the old one (factory) wasn't working so great so replaced with Rain-X. The Rain-X didn't fit the same as the OEM's and when we were in a bad rainstorm in Ohio it came off....thankfully it didn't scratch the windshield and I had saved the ole OEM's under the drivers' seat so just put that back on.

Do folks here just replace the blades on the OEM wipers or buy whole new wipers?

    congrats and welcome!

i replace the whole blade, but you have to get the correct model and clip it on correctly. never heard of one coming off, maybe defective?

    all the best!(y)

Bisco: No the factory blades are fine....it was a blade made by Rain-X that fell off even though it claimed to fit the Prius.

I talked to the parts guy at our local Toyota dealer and he said there's a lot of complaints about the wipers on the some new models. He suggested the best thing for our Prius II was to buy blade refills and showed me how to can pull the old wipers down just enough to get them off the bottom holders and then putting on new ones is super easy. Driver's side part number is 85214-47110 and Passenger is 85214-78010.

Welcome! I only change the rubber on the wipers. The blades do have a different connector as opposed to the J-hook found on most other vehicles. Looks like the Rain-X blade has the wrong connector.

Here's some of the part numbers for the 2017:
    ENGINE AIR FILTER 17801-21060

    CABIN AIR FILTER 87139-28020 (REGULAR)
87139-YZZ37 (CARBON, not worth it in my opinion)

ENGINE OIL FILTER 04152-YZZA6 (Cartridge, not spin-on. Toyota went to a spin-on filter late in the 2017 model year. Someone else can give you that part number if your car has one)

    RUBBER, WIPER, RH 85214-78010
    RUBBER, WIPER, LH 85214-47110
    RUBBER, REAR WIPER 85214-47010
The right hand and rear wiper rubbers are the same length (16"), but have a different groove pattern, hence the different part numbers.
