New Prius Owner

    Just got home from purchasing my brand new Prius Two silver. Got it for $21,988 in So Cal without any add-ons. Had been searching for about 3 weeks, and this was about the best price I was able to negotiate without having to trade in a car. Feels good to finally have the car.

    Question for you guys. After buying the car, did any of you guys do any detailing to the car, such as putting on sealant? Thinking about putting on some Klasse paint sealant on it and also some Aerospace 303 on the interior.

    DO it NOW, before anything gets into the paint! I used a clay bar on sealed with Wolfgang sealant as soon as I had the first chance to do it. Congrats on your new ride!!

    Thanks. Waiting for the Klasse sealant to come in the mail. Had already ordered it before I bought the car lol.

    Congrats!!! We just got our Prius Three last weekend, the first day the special financing came out here in So.Cal. Really enjoying the car.

    Is sealant an imperative on these cars? Is the paint more prone to contaminants?

    It's not more prone really than any other car, but it is definitely good to protect the paint to keep it in good condition.

    So I just found out that the dealers don't wax the cars. Now I understand why you are applying sealant. I'll probably use Pinnacle Souveran.

    Yep, and even if they did, who knows what they are using and what they did to prep (or the lack thereof) the car beforehand.

    Excellent point. I checked the cold tire pressures this morning and they ranged from 35-40psi.
