Hi all, we just got our first Prius! it's a 2008 and is replacing our 16 year old Echo this one comes with chrome wheels, like this: Are these standard? they are not particularly my taste, but on a tight budget. if these are factory parts, would the trim rings fit? just trying to make them less chrome feeling
Those wheels are after market. There are a bunch of owner photos of Gen-II wheels with the trim rings removed.
Those are the factory wheels, although I do not recall them as very chrome. Here is a pic with the trim rings.

Tap on the wheel does it sound plastic? There is a guy in my town with these they are factory wheels but then someone put chrome clad covers over the silver wheels. Basically like a hubcap. If it sounds solid when tapping on it I'd say its an aftermarket
Looks like factory wheels that have been chromed. You can spray some PlastiDip coating on them to cover the chrome. PlastiDip comes in many colors, and you can also use enhancers like melalizer and glossifier for many looks: Plasti Dip Protective Coating Products | Plasti Dip Protective Coating Products | Rubber Dip Coating
it does look like some fool put chromed hubcaps on the stock wheels. if so, pull em off and put em in the trash where they belong.
