I just hit the 100 mile mark on my new Prius. According to the consumption screen, I have averaged 55.2 miles per gallon over the first 100 miles---all city miles!

I couldn't be more pleased. I was expecting a more severe break-in period before achieving such results. Hopefully, these readings are close to being accurate.

Oh...for those who are interested: I drive on flat ground (Chicago suburbs); the temperatures have been around 60 degrees; it has been very windy (20 mph) over this time period.

My previous car was a 1989 Toyota Corolla (manual transmission). I think I learned something about maximizing mileage driving that car. I achieved over 40 mpg in the city and near 50 mpg on the highway with that car.

    :)

Holy cow! Great mileage. We are short of 200 miles on our new Prius, and are only averaging 42 or 43 MPG so far.
