It was kind of hard for 6 ft 4-in people &/or folks with neck/back injury/stiffness & old folks to get into the model v cabs .... not too sure that latest generation low profile roof line is going to cut it as a cab in light of that imo. But the color's okay

i love certain yellows, but that looks goldish/bronze to me. might be the lighting.
nice to see them add a color to their usually boring palette though.

    Color is really subjective, but I will say as a youngster with little cash and even less common sense wasted a ton of dough havine a 70s shevy painted this color around '77 ;

Cost equivalent to over $10K in our deflated dollar times.

definitely subjective. i have no quarrels with anyone buying/painting cars any color they choose.
i do often say to mrs b though, 'they must have gotten a discount on that color'. :D

"karashi" tranlates (presumably Japanese) to "loss" or "cost"?

The colour looks more mustardy in person; not the most flattering shade. Still, it's bright enough that it could be called No-Karashi.

For those not reading the fine print, the yellow(karashi - or mustard in Japanese) is only available in the HEV Nightshade trim.

I personally still think it's the best color for the car, but I'm not willing to give up the options in my Limited. I like the color the best because it highlights the roof arch, which I think is one of the most attractive design elements of the exterior. The red also does it, but I think the yellow does it the best of all the available colors.

The selfish part of me is happy Toyota reversed their decision to give the Nightshade trim the puddle lights that are available as an option in Japan. That means my car is going to continue to (probably) be the only Prius in North America to have them. (Bwa-ha-ha lol)

@Tideland Prius, your title is misleading. The announcement isn’t really about the color but the 2025 model year. It includes important pricing information as well as information about the new nightshade trim. Also, in Canada, yellow is for the Prius PHEV. This is Prius HEV.

Perhaps change it to something like 2025 Prius HEV announced with the new nightshade trim and new yellow color?

I see that the Price for LE has gone up by $400.

Plus the nightshade only comes in FWD with 19” wheels and has a black interior not the gradient black which is more of a dark charcoal color.

The Blue and Karashi (Yellow) would be on the bottom of my list for any Toyota.
    IMG_7156.jpeg

I do like the standard Blind Spot and Cross Traffic Alert on every grade. You no longer need to pay for glass roofs and fake leather for those top of the list safety features which actually help.

Plus an LE comes with the 17" wheels for a better ride and starts at $28k. A Prius ten years ago with the LE's standard features would cost more.

I do hate those electronic parking brakes. What, does it cost an extra $5 to have a mechanical cable to the rear calipers?

I like the yellow, but then my Sonic was orange, and the Ranger Mandarin Gold.

My first car was a used '63 Chevy. The first thing I did was paint it a canary yellow with a wide, black racing
stripe. I got a lot of thumbs up for it on Woodward ave. back in the day...until it was stolen. Long story short, when I got it back, I painted it a boring silver.

Probably more than $5, you know their prime mi$$ion. With all of these “improvements and advances”, there’s an accompanying marketing push, explaining how they’re better. I’ve driven a car with by-wire parking brake, found it maddening.

The demise of eyes-on-the-road heat/vent controls is another example. Ditto for eliminating the spare.

In 2016 it cost Toyota a recall due to clueless drivers abusing the parking brake. The set the parking brake and then exited the vehicle without turning it off or putting into Park. There was a stop-sell until they installed some small clip to work around Darwin.I looked at a Prius during that time and would have liked to test drive but the dealer could not allow that. I settled for sitting inside the car in the showroom.

I’ve done that once or twice; it’s just too damn easy. Never happened to me with a conventional key system. And replacement keys used to $5 at the shoe repair place lol.
