New Law by NJ state legislators. No sales tax on hybrids

Advancing proposed legislation out of committee doesn't mean it's going to actually happen, but worth keeping an eye on. It's not a law until a bill is signed by the Governor or is taken to a veto override vote in the legislature. Good Luck. We've had it here in Connecticut for hybrids over 40 mpg since October 2004.

It would be awfully nice if our fine legislators would fast-track this one. I've got my credit union's auto resource center working to find me a black package 3 or 5. Of course, this being NJ, I don't see that happening.

Maybe if I took a trip to Trenton with a bag of cash ...
