I have a 2010 prius,,,,sold new in july 2009.....I have the OEM battery and it quit today....I am thinking of replacing with optima yellow top......any reviews pro or con?
mostly good. they have had some bad ones, and sometimes need a charge before installing, but overall pretty good i think. all the best!
Very good quality and likely will last for 5 - 6 or more years. If you plan to keep the car for that long, go for it. If not, I'd suggest a lower cost replacement; you won't get back anything when you sell for the best battery.
I went with Optima because it was cheaper than Toyota's battery: $229 vs $271 (Canadian funds). And purchasing the Optima through SaskBattery I dodge provincial sales tax, about 6%? The Optima's the same dimensions, posts, and the vent. I had to slip in one washer to make Toyota's (super finicky, unadjustable design) hold-down bracket sit flat, that was the only issue. This was about 16 months back, the Optima's fine so far. Next time around, I might try Canadian Tire's battery, which apparently is a rebadged Exide. It's under $200, maybe $189:.
