My radio has the hiccups: when listening to either FM or to Satellite radio there is an echo that happens frequently. For example, when a newscaster is saying, :the biggest problem with..." instead I hear an "echo" that sounds like, "the biggest biggest problem with ..." There is a slight delay between the "biggest biggest" part. At first I heard the echo on satellite radio and thought it was a satellite reception issue, but I am also hearing the same type echo on FM stations. So, it seems it it not likely to be related to signal reception, but something in the audio system? Any thoughts?
OK, so my mancard may be revoked for doing so, but I checked the manual and on page 107 the Troubleshooting guide identifies "echo" as an issue and says the cause is: "The radio stations analog and digital volume is not aligned or the station is in ballgame mode." No idea about "ballgame mode." the Action column for this problem says, " None. A radio broadcast issue . ... .
usIf you also have sirius, I think there is a conflict between it and the radio. I just bought a new 2013 Prius III and it has the most annoying echo on FM radio. I got this story about its the radio station, but that is PURE BUNK. My old Prius had no problem with this station and a friend's new Prius has no problem. Same radio station. The only difference is the radios in the cars. his is a factory defect in either the radio or sirius. I cannot deal with this and want to know how to deal with Toyta I also have this same extremely annoying echo. Was told the same BS by the dealer. My old Prius had no problem at all with the very same station. My friend just bought a 2014 Prius and listens to the very same station I do. No Problem. This is a factory defect and must be fixed. I am going to contact Consumer Reports and the Attorney Generals office. This is consumer fraud.
I can't stand how much quieter FM is compared to XM, and honestly does anyone else think HD radio is a scam… it cuts in and out so much and switches to and from its pointless….. thus XM stays on for me….
