    don't you need a gyro too so the nav can measure vehicle speed (esp. for tracking inside a tunnel or what-have-you) plus $700 gets a really really nice portable GPS

    OR

    You can save it towards the Garmin Black Box GPS system which integrates into your MFD anyway.
