Nav voice commands don't mute sound system

    On every other car that I've been in with a built in NAV, when the NAV gives commands it mutes or attenuates the radio sound for that moment that the NAV is speaking. Therefore,
    the NAV voice comes through clearly.

    On my prius V 5 with ATP there is no such attenuation. If the radio is loud, the voice commands just speak at the same time, making it hard to follow, sometimes.

    Is there a setting to turn this on? I'm really quite disappointed in this seemingly obvious shortfall and can't find any discussion of it in this forum.

    I have a lot of other issues with the NAV but I'll start here...

    You can adjust the nav sound up or down, but I think that's it. It has been mentioned but perhaps not as it's own thread. Plenty of discussion about the limitations of the standard NAV however.

    Agreed. This makes it challenging to listen to the Biebs while using the nav.
