Hello PriusChat - I am new owner a Prius v - 3 Package. Can you folks please help me out? If my doors are all locked and I walk up to the trunk with my key fob in my pocket, how do I open the trunk? Can I: a) Pull open the trunk handle and it automatically unlocks ? OR b) Do I have to use the key fob and press the unlock button twice to unlock all doors, then I can press the button to release? thanks!
If it's anything like my Prius hatchback 3, then you can use method b. Or you can program your SKS to unlock all doors when you grab the driver's door handle. Then you can walk to the hatch and open it. SCH-I535
On the v Five with SKS set to open all doors at once, with the fob in hand, touching the trunk opening button unlocks the trunk and other doors.
Yes, as indicated above the 3 can be opened with the keyfob or, if configured, by touching the drivers door. Annoying but I usually walk to the drivers door, touch it, and then go to the trunk. Procedure: With the car off, Press and Hold "Lock" and "Unlock" keyfob for 5 seconds to change the keyfree mode
I just picked up the Prius v Three (lowercase v, and three not III) on Tuesday, and for whatever reason when looking at the vehicle I did not notice this missing feature; I had it on the Gen II Prius and nowI miss it.
The fob can be programed to unlock all doors on the first press. The driver's door can be programmed to unlock all doors when touched. Sadly there is no way to get 3 door SKS on the v without softtex.
I reach into my pocket and press the doors open button on the fob twice and my rear is unlocked by the time I get to it. It has become instinctive as my hand now knows the shape of the fob and where the door open button is on the fob. (v3)
