MY Smart Key Problem - Help

As I left the car, I pushed the driver's door outside door lock. It's always worked before. Not this time. It just rang a siren. And my car doors did not lock. Tried this 3 times. Please advise.

Sorry I made this part of a reply post; just can't figure out how to post a NEW question.

    Thanks

A door is not closed all the way (probably the hatch) or another SKS fob is in the car.

This happens to me once in a while. Occasinally it's because one of the doors is slightly ajar (usually the hatch because the cargo mat gets in the way.) Other times it appears to be due to change in my pocket blocking the signal from the fob. Another push of the button results in the desired effect.

Sometimes it happens when the pocket change does NOT block the signal . . . ie; the FOB is so close to the door, that the smart system thinks that the FOB is IN the car. The weaker the signal, the more likely it is that the door locks will function properly.
And Yes, welcome to P.C. !!

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I should make it a tin foil hat?

"Rang a siren"? Like the security alarm? Or it beeped a bunch of times? If the latter, I agree with the prior posters, you have a door open. It isn't likely that the car is still on, it would have beeped when you opened the door.
