Using technology from Comma.AI, I actually was able to make my Prius Prime Advanced a self-driving vehicle. Check it out! I actually saw my video reposted on another thread so thought might as well post it on here.

does the processor HAVE to see the road (e.g. is it using it's own camera or the lane keeping camera of the car)? and does it have to be mounted dead center or does it allow for calibration if offset?

still can't get past the idea that a bug will suddenly spin the wheel hard left into head-on traffic. I've been programming for over 40 years and those are the bugs of nightmares!

My openpilot is also working pretty well. I wish they would have included a dry erase markers with the kits for installing the mounts. It's hard to get it placed and stuff without keeping track of where the mount should be by marking it. I actually bought another pack of GoPro mount stickies since I've moved them around so much they started losing their stick. :T

It does not have to be mounted dead center to the windshield or the car. What's most important is the Yaw and Pitch.

What functions of the Prime advanced do you loose with openpilot?
    1. Zero adaptive cruise?
    2. Blindside alert?
    3. Any other safety features found in the advanced?
Waiting for the Gray Panda to finish the install

Very cool! Wish we could just tweak the existing set up (camera - computer - road) to make it work closer to this.

The only function you lose is the auto high beams since it uses the Front camera to sense incoming light. Otherwise, you maintain everything over stock.

Has anyone using openpilot in a Prime Advanced encountered a cruise fault error after disconnecting the DCU/ECU?

Yeah. Sometimes you just need to turn the car off and wait a few moments before turning it back on. Like let the car completely turn off, sit off for like 10 seconds, then turn it back on.

I have Prius Prime Premium model.
What exactly do I need to purchase from below site to make my car steer and keep it in the lane?
My car already has dynamic cruise and lane keeping assist.

    comma wiki
I went to above site but got confused as to what pieces I need to purchase?
Can I use my own iPhone to make the system work? (I have iPhone 6s).

    Thanks,
    Robert

Does openpilot need to have Prime Fingerprint ssh into eon? My car shows paired but openpilot 4.5 does not open. If fingerprint
needs to be added, I need some help. Thank you for your assistance.

Does it meet all the industry standards and legal requirements for self driving cars?

Such certifications will be essential in the litigation following injury and/or fatality 'incidents'.

You are buying EON as a dash cam. What you choose to do with it afterwards is up to you.

.4.5.1 already has the fingerprint added. You need to flash you Panda to support the latest software. The easiest way is to unplug giraffe, plug grey or white panda into your ODB2 port below steering column and then directly plug your EON into your grey panda and then hit start button on the car. The LED lights on the panda should pulse blue and red, if it successfully flashes you'll see a pulse of red light.

But an unsafe unregulated and non-compliant "self-driving vehicle" is a lethal risk hazard to all other road users too.

Idleuser: Thank you. I didn't see that step to flash Panda in any of my searches.
SaraBBrown94: Thank for all your help.

It's self driving level 2 ai. Think of it as a stronger better version of Lane keep. It will keep you centered in your lane but you still have to pay attention all the time. If you're the type of person that worries about regulations in terms of self-driving vehicles you might want to just steer clear of this autopilot thing. It's a ton of fun though if you do get it.
