I couldn’t find anyone who has done this or any photos. Tried photo shopping so I could see before buying wheels. Thought this may help someone wanting to do the same. I wanted hypersilver but could find any used ones. I’m still hyper with the outcome. I just have loved this style of wheel since 2010.

Those are non-Persona I think? Good choice, like the look.

That's the rims on our 2010 CDN Touring. I've found the Classic Silver Metallic (1F7) touch up pen is a perfect match, btw.

The 4th gen 17" rims with plastic iinserts I'm not impressed with, and if you take the ($24 a pop) plastic inserts out, it looks horrendous, like you've been to the dentist and they just removed a few crowns...

BTW, ours has Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires, on your review/recommendation a few years back. Took a mpg hit at first, compared to aging Michelin PIlots, but it's gradually come back. :)

My Fuelly score used to be 4.9 (better), but after a few abysmal tanks (with the new Primacy) it ticked up to 5.0. I'm hoping to claw back down to 4.9 soon. (y)

Looks really nice , a lot better than the 15 inches ugly looking stock ones (sorry folks..!!) , I chose the Toyo Extensa HP2, when it was time to change , a major improvement compare to the cheap tires Toyota is putting on their new cars.

Older gen 2 wheels. Think they were the lightest of the OEM prius wheels. I forget the weight on them. As far as 15" wheels go, I liked the look much better than the stock ones. I swapped them on about 3 days after I got the car. tapatalk_1575685518419.jpeg

Thanks. I’m had them put on continental since my Prius is the awd and they said I need to go with 225//45/17. Mpg dropped to 42. Yikes! They will be putting on Bridgestone ecopia for me. 80k tire. And it will be the stock size this time. I agree about the new style wheels. I found a set. They just don’t look great. I’m happy with the final look. Would still like the hyper dark silver ones if I find a set.

What's old is new again lol.

I've got old wheels on my Corolla and Prius too. Early 2000's Enkeis on the Corolla, and early 2000's Subaru Imprezza WRX wheels on the Prius.

Those stock 17s are pretty heavy though. If you went from stock 15s to 17s you shouldn't expect to get the same mpg. You'll likely take a 1-2 mpg hit.

Edit: reread your posts, sounds like your stock tire size was 215/45/17, so you might not take much of an mpg hit.

I have a set of 15” PIP rims waiting for their moment. Not sure how or when. Hopefully if.

Correct. These are the actual wheels from the 05-09 Prius with the trim rings (the ring that goes around the edge of the wheels)
