Overall, I was pleased with how smooth the Prius handled. Surprisingly, I did not experience sore shoulders, neck, or back but a little leg fatigue.

Noise both internal and from the elements was very good.

    Apparently I avergaed 42.1 mpg

I prepped my car with REJEX (two coats) and it did a very good job. Dead bugs and road grime washed off very easily.

Prius is a FANTASTIC road trip car!!

Cool. Did the fuel gauge fix work out good? Was it the the sender in the tank?

Fuel guage works now. I took it to a local dealer who confirmed the problem and replaced it. Took about 4 days tho.

I'd rather drive my Explorer (when I had it) when making the drive between Los Angeles and Sacramento, up/down I5. However, if you include MPG and driving through the Grapevine (the Explorer was a little sluggish through the hills), I agree that the Prius is great. You got pretty good MPG, too. I get about 35 MPG, but I'm normally driving between 80 and 85 MPH on the straight road and 70s through the Grapevine. And it's in the 30s for temperature as I usually make that drive over Christmas.

I got the same issue about tired legs. I think it's because the seat is a little low to the ground, maybe lack of support, but not sure. I'm thinking about getting a cushion to sit on (can't be too difficult of a remedy). When you discover your remedy, I'll be all ears.

No immediate remedy comes to mind other than my body simply acclimating the those "soft tex leather seats"
Personally, I'm a fan of cloth seats and will use a lumbar support/chair in the driver seat (provide a firm support for your butt and great for the lower back).

Again, very much please with the overall performance and experience with the recent SF road trip. I'm going to this puppy a lot....maybe even down to Mexico!! LOL (seriously).
