First let me just say, I LOVE MY NEW PRIUS!!! I have decided to name her Millie, as in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" :) She is Seaside Pearl Blue, with package #6.
I've had her for almost a month, and I'm getting 47mpg average. I have haunted this forum for awhile now, learning that how you drive it, temperature, weight etc will affect the mpg...but I have a question about that. I read some posts where people tell their current mileage, and their lifetime average. How do you figure that? I have just been calculating by hand each time I fill up.

And I love the display screen, but the finger prints on it, and dust in general, are driving me crazy. Anyone have a quick and easy clean up plan for the display? I live in Vegas, so thought about just carrying wet wipes like they hand out in the casinos but not sure.

Congrats on getting your new Prius. I use a red"California duster" that I got at Kmart to dust the screen and the whole dash. Also use Screen Cleaning Wipes for when the screen gets real dirty. I biieve their made by Amoroall but i use the generic type.

Welcome to Priuschat Millie!! Oh, and you're welcome too, Cynda. :)

As for figuring, I use the spreadsheet in my signature. It's in Excel and then I export it to html for web posting. If you want, I can send you then Excel version.

Welcome to Priuschat and congrats on your new Prius! We calculate the lifetime average by keeping track on a spreadsheet as Tony has done.

I use a swiffer to keep the dash and screen dust-free.

I use a microfiber cloth for the screen itself, and a duster for the dash. The microfiber towel just comes out of my glove compartment when needed, and wipe the screen off, and back into the glove compartment for my next compulsive screen cleaning. That way, no mess, nothing to throw away, and from what I hear, it won't scratch the display. Other things may not as well, but I'm happy with my microfiber cloth.

Congrats Cynda! I am a new fellow #6 owner, and new member here as well! I had the same question/concern about the dirty display. I think I will keep some of those screen wipes in my Prius as others have mentioned. Take care

Congratulations on Millie! I use a microfiber cloth on the screen, works great, but wash the cloth now and then. For the dash, I treated it with <a href=\'http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=428&CFID=1512832&CFTOKEN=46599033\' target=\'_blank\'>303 Aerospace Protectant</a> and am really happy. It cleans and polishes the dash without making it shiny, and 303 is antistatic so dust doesn't want to settle on the plastic. 303 also makes fabric protectant.

Hiya, Cynda and good on you.

I clean my screen with Staples store-brand screen-cleaning fluid (4 oz. non-aerosol spray bottle) and microfiber cloth. Aren't those "wipes" derived from wood pulp and/or plastic?
