    WOW!

My new Prius 2006, Seaside Pearl, arrived at my dealer today! Unfortunately it was dark when I saw it - but I will try to get some pictures tomorrow.

I noticed that the rims are new for the (european) 2006 - I will get some pics of them too...

The car is still covered with some white transport "plastic sheets" over the hood, rear spoiler and the roof.

In Europe we do not have "packages" like the states - my car is the so called Tech Version over here - which includes IPA :)

The car still needs a name though - so I would apprechiate your input! So far I was thinking of:

    Falcon (they gilde ;) )
    Perpetuus (runs forever...)
Proprius (one's own, special, characteristic, particular)

Please also feel free to come with your suggestions!

As the dealer still has to put in leather seats (not possible to order from factory in europe...) and a block + interior heater, I suspect I will not get the car before next Friday at the earliest...

    Can't wait!!! :)

Hmm, I vote for Falcon :)

    Thanks Tideland!

Falcon sounds nice I think. And Yes - I will post pics!

One thing I am still not sure of is wether or not the car has Bluetooth... Toyota Norway says it does, while all other info I have on the "Tech Version" says no...

I was looking through the side window of the car, and it has the "telephone buttons" on the steering wheel - so I hope it does.

Hey, a country neighbour! With the exact car and options that i am heading for. It could have been my car if my incompetent dealer had not screwed up my order and forgot to order my car. I am very interested about if the park assist is the automatic parking option and if it has bluetooth as i have seen the same as you about the "no bluetooth tech option". Which date did you order your car?

Why not be exploring your semi-unique Norse situation for a name?

Obviously, "Fjord" wouldn't be too smart. Nor "Tundra".

And as you probably know, "Norge" was a refrigerator over here.

I noticed you have counties named "Nordland" and "Telemark". The latter brings to mind speedy, SILENT schussing through the sparkling powder.

And, of course, there's Viking, a worthy name if ever there was one. I'm surprised no carmaker has appropriated the name before now. The only "Viking" mechanical/propulsion item I know of is a 5-HP outboard motor we used to use when fishing in Canada in the 50's.

In The Netherlands, the Tech Edition has bluetooth.

    Heia Sverige!!!

The IPA is indeed what you call the automatic parking option - Intelligent Parkig Assist.

    Let's see about the Bluetooth.....

I ordered my car around October last year.

    Thanks Jack 06!

I will take your input into serious consideration. This means that I so far has the following names to concider:

Viking is also the name of a Mercury outbboard over here. It's the 9.9hp modified to 15hp by removing a part in the carburator... Now I ave the following to choose from:

    Falcon
    Perpetuus
    Proprius
    Nordland
    Telemark
    Viking

    Keep it coming! ;)

Hej Henrik! After my last post i this thread i looked at your former posts. I saw that you had written a post at 8 nov about ordering a Prius in 2 days, so I guess 10 nov is your ordering date.

I ordered a prius the 27 sep but my incompetent dealer forgot to order it!! So, now he says that he can order it for me now, but it will probably now be delivered until sep! So, the thing is, if the dealer had done his job right I would had a Prius parked in my garage right now. What should I do now? I got a suggestion about "having their heads on a bloody stick", but that sounds a bit violent, don´t you think?

Putting their heads on sticks may be a littlebit over the edge... ;)

The reason I got this car so "quickly" was that it was already on order from Toyota in Europe. If I wanted another colour I had to wait until March...

Ask your dealer to see what is already on order - and see if any of those cars will suit you. If he can't help you, call Toyota HQ in Sweden - they will have someone that is a Prius specialist - who may be able to help you.

    Good Luck!

Here is the first pics of my new car - taken today at the dealers lot!

It may be winter outside, but in my heart it's spring! :)

Notice the new rims - new for the 2006 in Europe - looks like gun metal. I had planned to get some other rims, but now I am not so certain anymore - I like these quite good.

Congrats on the car! I vote for Falcon too. I'm a big fan of birds of prey in general, and as you can see from my member name here, that includes falcons specifically!

    Enjoy!

    Thanks Dave!

I have to admit a mistake on my part though... This is the european wheel as it has been all along - except that the plastic cover has not been mounted! I guess I will just keep them this way! :)

    Thanks Rancid!

I had my first drive in the car today, as the dealer had to take it to a company to put in leather seats. :) Wonderful feeling! :)

I was driving on summer tires - and it was very slippery on the smaller roads this morning (icy) and I had NO problems with the Traction Control.

The new monitor/screen was also great - but the Nav and a few other systems was not available yet - this will be done before delivery.

I will probably take delivery on Friday.
