Both of my cars were bought after a Munro review like this and I'm thinking about replacing the 2017 BMW i3-REx. It is still doing what I want and there are more things to learn about the newest Model Y but I had found a 2022 Model Y for what had been a good price. I will take a look at it next week.

This morning, I got a note from the seller and I responded:

Either side can conceive SS as a ponzi or pyramid scheme. The nature of said schemes is to have new entrants buy in, & that pays for the earlier entry.
The label, 'scheme' is apropos because it may have been disingenuous for the Roosevelt admin to start it all up presuming SS can continually provide exponentially more & more entrants that will for ever outweigh those earlier recipients.
Do we need to throw stones at Rosevelt's grave now? Or fix the flaws in the system as it now stands before it fails - as they always do.

Leon’s inflammatory posts are never helpful, and republicans have never offered a better ‘scheme’.
All we get is the same old tired ‘let’s put it in the stock market’

Turns out we'd done business before when I bought the 2014 BMW i3-REx. I want to look at the car and see what kind of a deal we might work out. Issues remain:
    • Updated hardware vs Proven hardware
    • Autopilot vs Full Self Driving (I'm a fan)
    • $1,000 vs $1,300 Tesla tow kit
    • Full warranty vs partial warranty
    • Buy now or buy later (better prices)
I am not a fan of haggling with a car dealer. But if you realize it is game both are playing . . .

ps. My comment about Social Security is going to someone who may have thought life with the sociopath in Chief would be cake and roses. In effect, I'm rubbing his nose (and pocket book) in what has been done and going on.

I agree. Shutdown Social Security and I won't buy either car.

The world is not that black and white. Many people depend on Social Security & Veterans benefits - but even Biden suggested Cutting benefits For both .... and Bernie Sanders called him out on it.

So why in the world would someone have issues with political opponents trying to fix a sinking ship.

I have no problem with limiting ss to a payout of paid in plus an average rate of return based on something like treasury auctions.
What I don’t need is Leon’s version of flamethrower, chainsaw and sledgehammer

Tesla is going the way of the Delorean... They're way too financially overleveraged to survive this extreme of a downturn. But on the bright side used Teslas are unbelievably cheap because people all around the country are getting harassed for driving them because they now represent the same person who's trying to steal all our countries wealth to make billionaires even richer by making the world's poorest people even poorer.

If I were you I'd buy a used Model 3 for super cheap and put Mazda badges on it, because it very much looks like a Mazda and you'll get attacked less often for being a treason supporting coward that way.

Both welfare and Social security increases the GDP significantly. It was created because it's more expensive for the government to have homeless elderly people starving to death all over the place than it is to kick down some cash to keep them housed and fed and addressing their health issues before it gets life threatening.

Yet, there is social security in every other country in the world, and it works.

I like Bernie Sanders, not only for his political views, but he is intelligent, honest, honorable, and dignified. He clearly explains here that Musk and Trump are trying to get rid of Social Security—in other words, to give it to Wall Street. As for Musk and Trump, they can’t care less about people—they only deceive their voters that they do. The devil is best at deception, and the real devils are among people, not in hell.

Interesting ... that you'd like bernie, when in essence he evidently thought of Biden as a liar in the prior video. (Not that we didn't know that already after biden's claims he graduated in the top of his class & pilford other's speeches Etc). But that's ok -bernie at least has enough integrity to not shift with the prevailing wind.
Hopefully next election both sides will get better candidates.

I live in "Whitesburg Estates" subdivision that was built about 55 years ago. Many of my neighbors are older than my 75 years. So we have a high ratio of Social Security and Medicare dependent voters. I don't know how they feel until the next election if there is one

My home solar, automatic generator, cheap to drive EVs, hybrid water heater, and ductless dryer makes me feel somewhat insulated from what my neighbors are about to experience. But then I voted as if the sociopath in Chief meant to carry out every Herbert Hoover policy he claimed.

As I write, I am capital short with only 10 short-shares of TSLA. There may be a wa.y to take bigger steps during the expected TSLA decline. Last year, I'd converted my TSLA shares into a solar roof which increased my insurance valuation from ~$275k to ~$325k about what I paid for the solar project. The expected $100/mo electric savings will more than cover both the slightly higher, house insurance premium and property tax increase.

I don't get your math. You paid how much for the solar (with profits from your stock that you will have to pay taxes on) and will recoup that at $1,200 a year and it is a good investment. Even with tax rebates? And despite the insurance and tax increases?

I suspect your capital is in other types of investments.

I applaud your eco friendly improvements. And thanks for the link to the Munro piece on the new Y.
