Hi all, My 2007 Prius has about 105,000 miles on it. For awhile I was getting around 41-42 MPG which I thought was a bit on the low side, but the dealership never found any problems. I had the recommended 60k service done then after that stopped going to dealer for routine maint like oil changes and such. Lately though, my MPG has dropped to around 37. I use Chevron gas all of the time and I keep up with my oil changes. I try to also make sure my tires are inflated properly. They had a special on oil changes at the dealer so I asked them what they thought might account for the drop in mileage. Their initial thought was cleaning out the fuel injectors. After looking around on this forum and other websites, it sounds like that would be a waste of $$. Any other ideas as to what might cause the drop? I'm not tremendously mechanically inclined however, I do change my own air and cabin air filters. Any and all ideas are welcome! If there is a video or instructions out there that can show me what things to check, that would be wonderful! Thanks all! Deb
Since the 12 volt battery does not start the car, few drivers have experience detecting when it is dying. One of the many ways it may die results in consistently worse gas mileage. So test your 12 volt battery. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...ssion/95785-really-unfixable.html#post1354207
