    Hi all

Last I week replaced the OEM stock Bridgestones on my 2007 Prius Touring with a set of 4 Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds. I chose this tire due to its performance on wet surfaces (live in the Pacific NW) and for its availability in the size I needed (205/55/16). My choices in the stock tire size were very limited.

Have REALLY noticed a big hit in overall MPG to the tune of 10 to 20%. Over time as the tires break in will this MPG improve some? I sure hope so. Otherwise the tires seem fine, handle well and no complaints so far other than the decreased mileage. BTW...they are inflated to 40 front 38 rear. The max pressure stated on the side wall is 44 psi. I hate to go much higher than 40 in the front.

    Any thoughts?
    Rick

10% to 20% hit? OUCH! Those are pretty fat tires though, so I can understand it. Your mpg should improve as the tires loosen up. I'd add some more air if I were you.
