Hello, I have a few questions about mountain driving and going up hills. Should you turn ECO off or even stay in “B” so the gas engine takes all the heat? I ask because I recently drove my 2015 Prius C with 60,000 miles up Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder and when I got out of the vehicle it smelled almost like burning. It wasn’t a brake smell, it was more like an electrical or plastic smell. I’m a little paranoid about it now. Thanks for your input.

    Uphill, neither will matter.

Do use 'B' on long downhills, though, on anything long enough that the battery fills up and requires a lot of foot braking. But with regards to engine heating and smell, ECO / Normal / PWR again won't matter on the downhills, or anywhere else.
