    Humu here, Seaside Pearl 7:
Anyone know the cheapest way to add a third SS SE Fob to my key collection? The dealer closest to my house wants 220 bucks for the FOB and another 80 bucks to program it. I think I could do better.
Can a FOB be ordered on line if one has the key code?
Just a little nervous about having only two keys to my car and each one worth about 250 bucks. I made up a little tag offering a 50 buck reward and listing my cell phone number, which I affixed to the FOB. At least an honest person would have a chance to return it to me and a potential thief would not know where the car was.

No, I don't think so. The above thread is about getting a mechanical key made. I'm looking for the cheapest way to replace the entire SE/SS fob.
Car came with two fobs, I'd like a third as a backup.

Don't you have to pay someone (the dealer) to get your car to associate with that key? That would still make it close to $220 after the $60 fee they may asses you. If you do it at the dealer they may throw in the labor for free. Right?

    OR

Do we know how to do it ourselves? Can I find this information out on the shop manual that I purchased from the guy that was selling them on ebay? BTW, I purchased directly from him sans ebay they still have more.

Yea, AFAIK only the service tech can program the fobs, gotta be done with a computer and stuff.
