NYC pot holes will truly test what Tesla’s are made of ...... I am all for this experiment.

We have one TM3 cab too. The driver's here buy their own vehicle (split between the 2 or 3 drivers that share that one taxi) so it'll be interesting to see if it takes off. It still qualifies for the federal and local incentives that's available to private owners. Sales taxes on EVs can be written off if used as a business as well.

    - most Teslas don't opt for the more expensive rubber band tires on the large rims.
    - ANY car with rubber band tires on large rims suffer pot hole potential damage.
    - still ... an "A" for negativity effort.

Who was talking about tires and rims. More like suspension and creaks and rattles during the course of use in NYC street hell.

Funny you should mention this. I'm using lighter wheel rims and Bridgestone, low rolling resistance tires to improve my Tesla range. An ongoing experiment, speeds below 45 mph show an improvement so I'm looking at hub caps to reduce high speed, aerodynamic drag. More technical data AFTER I get benchmark data showing the effects.

I also thought suspension and bushings, not rims when he made that comment.

Have the Prii still been developing rattles?

Our 2012 Plug-in Prius had some steering column rattles within months of new. Great car in spite of that. Just wish Toyota kept evolving green tech and had some BEVs to offer by now - a BEV Prius would have then already found its way to the yellow cab fleet.

    Prii doesn’t cost $40k

Who remembers Peugeot 505’s making it into the yellow cab fleet! Is that what all auto manufacturers strive for - to be a cab ?

    Neither does a model 3.

We’ve already been through this with you, nice try. $35,000 for the base model, SR.

More transparent than the dealership experience.

In case I did not make my self clear - The Standard Range model, starting just under $40,000, is the best value.

Nope, still $35,000 before any state or utility incentives.

That’s a bare bones model which factors in potential incentives and gas savings of $6,300 for a total amount before tax and state fees of $31,690. But who buys bare bones Tesla’s?

No. $35,000 SR does not factor in potential incentives and gas savings.

Irrelevant to the discussion at hand but since you ask, many more people than buy the Mirai.
