Mini VCI

    Will a mini VCI be able to detect a bad or weak battery cell module??

    Will it point you exactly to the weak cell module that needs to be changed??

    short answer is yes. But there may be others that are weak but not weak enough to detect via mini VCI

    If you run the VCI in test mode it will show up week modules by the more rapid rise and fall of the voltage against the others. It will also show the internal resistance of the modules. Recordings of the data can also be done while driving the car.

    The simple rule is any pair of modules, there are 19 pairs, that is off by 1.2V has a bad cell in those modules.
