Last week, I reported that the MFD of my 2006 had failed after only 5000 miles. The dealership ordered a replacement for me, but when they went to install it today, they discovered that the problem was not the MFD, which was fine, but the wiring. It now appears to be back to normal. I hope that this bodes well for longevity of newer MFDs!

BTW, I had also reported, and complained about, the fact that they wanted to replace my MFD with a refurbished MFD, not a new one. Today, they told me that contrary to what my service rep had told me, the refurbished MFD reused the housing only and had new operating parts. It that is the case, I don't think there's anything to complain about in a refurbished MFD.
