    For economic and engineering reasons, crash tests are into known barriers or run into by test carts. A cynic might suggests this is another way to reduce unsold inventory.

    I would perform a separate test to validate the automatic braking systems in order to avoid or lessen the actual impact. I can only assume that those systems were turned off for this test.

    That's just a 35mph head on crash... Once you get above 40mph you're on your own and they can't engineer your survival... So drive slower everyone! Be alert of everything around you and ready to react if something sudden happens is way easier if you're limiting your maximum speed.
