Mechanical/Electrical buzz sound

    I have 1200 miles on my 07 Prius and today out of the blue it started to make a buzz sound (non vibration) from under the stearing wheel. It sounds like something mechanical or electrical and does it ever few minutes and for the same length of time.

    Has anyone heard this before and if so what was it and were you able to have the dealer fix it?

    I'm heading out on a 1500 mile round trip next Wed and I'm worried that it might be a part ready to fail. Need to get over the the dealer but wanted to see if anyone else came across this.

    I have the same vintage and mileage.
    For a few days recently I heard something similar to what you describe for about 3-5 seconds and only when braking gently to a full stop. Never heard it again.

    Mine goes for 3-5 seconds as well but not when I'm breaking. It will happen when I'm starting off, when I'm just driving and when I'm breaking. Sounds like some piece of equipment trying to do something but not working correctly. I haven't noticed any issues except for the sound itself but worry it might be a part ready to fail.
