MD Emissions Inspection (VEIP)

    Sorry if this has been reported before. I live in MD and we have regular emissions inspections every 2 years. So I today, waited in line for 30 minutes and was then told that they do not test the Prius. I had to go to the office. They wrote a waiver for the car. Hope this saves someone some time. Just go straight to the office and get the waiver.

    Technically, we're not supposed to be sent the VEIP notices - we're simply supposed to be exempt. However - the MD VEIP program isn't exactly the most organized program - and they do all sorts of silly things.

    You should be able to get the inspection request canceled over the phone. No guarantees.....
