    Hallo everyone,

I’m trying to feed electricity from the map lights to a dash cam. Both are 5v. Can someone please tell me which wire (see the attached photo) is the live/positive one and which one is ground/negative?
Additional tips are very much welcome.

I’m new to this forum and this is my first post. I have a toyota prius 2006.

    Thanks in advance!

The map lights are 5 volts? Are you sure? I doubt theirs a power supply just for the map lights. I will look later. I have the schematic.

    Where is that plug from?

The factory bulbs in my '08 were 12V5W. I replaced them with 12V LEDs. I very seriously doubt there is 5V up there.

I think that’s a really bad place to get 12 volts from. Lights are mostly controlled by body ecu. I would not dick around in there you could blow that ecu up and then your really in it.
Get 12 off fuse box by left knee and route the wire up the windshield pillar.
