How did we miss this one?

"Visionary Vehicles", Malcolm Bricklin's latest venture is targeting a PHEV for 2009, and he says he's going to do it for 20-30% less than a gas car. But read the wikipedia link before getting your checkbook out. This should be interesting.

Given his history, I think I'll pass on the latest Bricklin.

Riight... he still hasn't brought the Chinese car company over. I can't decide if that's a good or bad thing lol.

Interesting part about starting up Subaru of America, but the other ventures, including Yugo do not inspire confidence. And now he's promising a fully working prototype in about six months when he hasn't even picked the car company yet? It's not adding up. It surprises me he still gets funding.

I certainly won't tell you that. The name is the same. The question is "How old is this Bricklin?"

    Sounds like another scam/con job.

    'Fraid so.

That's what I meant when I said this was going to be interesting. I like the idea of a PHEV for the masses but the path this execution might take is a little concerning. A fiasco here in the PHEV's infancy could tarnish the concept in the eyes of the public and prevent it from ever getting off the ground. Hopefully that won't happen.

Sounds like some of the Project Managers and projects I've worked with and every time, I ask the same questions.

You and me both. I bet you wonder why I'm such a heavy drinker? The only way I know how to cope, baby.

I looked into it more and it's the same crackpot Bricklin. Same guy who screwed the New Brunswick government, various local and Federal agencies, out of around $25 million back then.

Looks like the nut doesn't land too far from the tree ... now gimmie a shot before I get cranky!
