We recently had routine maintenance done on our 2020 Prime, but noticed the "Maintenance Due" warning on the dashboard is coming on, so we are assuming they forgot to reset it, the dealership is a good distance away and I prefer not to be bothered making a special trip that far just to have it reset, so does it hurt anything just to let it continue to show up on the dashboard until our next routine maintenance ?

Thanks in advance for any replies !

Just reset it yourself. It's in the manual.

You can go ahead and reset it! You have to be in Park and just scroll through the menu and you will find it. It's set to go off at 5,000 miles which is when your need to rotate tires and get the oil changed.

Thanks to both of you !

I was wondering if it was a dash menu option but had been too busy recently to check into it right away.

Give it another week or two, and it'll be "hey, why should I even bother resetting this". FWIW, Canadian Prius don't have this, at least not through third gen.

Thanks, but just tired of seeing it on the dash, and I'm also wondering IF that dash "maintenance due" alert is somehow being transmitted as I had gotten email from another dealership about getting maintenance done o_O

nah, they're just going by mileage records which are available on the toyota site.
with few cars to sell, they are really pushing unneeded service even more than previously

Okay, thanks, so even other dealerships that you do not go to (and have never gone to) can see such info too ! o_O

No it's not. You want to reset it. If you don't it will become much more annoying.

    Summary:
It is just a simple "timer" and mileage monitor.
It does NOTHING but make the light come on.
It does not transmit anything to anybody.

It would be perfectly fine to let it be......or visit a different dealer and ask them to reset it for you.
