    Hi Everyone,

I am a proud owner of a 2005 Prius with a 102,000 miles on it. It is still in great condition because I've been taking very good care of my car. I am thinking of buying a new 2015 plug-in due to all the incentives currently being offered. I resides in Orange County CA. What is the lowest price that anyone has paid for a 2015 plug-in Prius anywhere? With all the incentives, I am thinking of buying one now and replace it with the new 2016 plug-in model because I don't really like the interior color of the '15 model. Hopefully when I sell it, I will at least break even due to the incentives plus I will get more money if I sell my current car now.

    Thank you so much.

I think the idea of getting all your money back on a new car is unrealistic, your are going to have to give up your tax credit profits and your discounts to a new buyer to compete with the next model and the incentives being given are because not many people want to buy these cars, if everybody wanted one there would be no incentives, so it will cost you your sales tax, all your tax credits and probably two or three thousand to fulfill your plan, best to keep your car and wait and buy the new model.

You can lease one and turn it in early. I leased one for $295 month, zero to start.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't think that I would get all my money back when selling it for the 2016 model. I was just hoping that I wouldn't loose too much money or hopefully would break even with all the incentives. Thank you for your point though, I didn't think about giving up the tax credit profit as well as the discount to the new buyer if I want to sell the car.

You want to buy a 2015...only to turn it in for a 2016...because you don't like the 2015 to begin with? Just hang on to your 2005 until the 2016 comes out, because any incentives/savings/whatever will be lost in the transactions.
