Having lost a key fob before, I didn't want to go through the painful process of getting a new one. I decided to start carrying both of them. That way, if I lost one, I wouldn't have to go all the way home to get my spare. I remember driving my neighbor all the way across the city to retrieve his spare key fob that he had left there. I got a few intermittent messages on the dash panel, that a key fob was "not in the car" but I put it down to a quirk caused by interference from having two key fobs in the car. Turns out it was caused by a low battery in one. Apparently it searches for a working fob when one fails. Much better than when you have to buy a battery somewhere quick when your key fob battery is failing.
I have also found that the car will not detect the SKS fob if it's right next to my cell phone (I get the "no key" security indicator). Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
