Looking for Advice regarding Buying a 2009 or 2010 Prius

    I'm planning on selling my 2005 Prius and getting a newer Prius

    Do I want a 2009? 2010 Prius Four? (Don't think I can afford a 2011 or 2012)

    What would you recommend and why?

    Also does anyone know when the 2013 Prius' will hit the showroom? (I know I want to hold off until that point - so the the older models will drop a bit more in price.

    The 2010 is the first model year for the generation 3, the gen 3 has a 1.8L ICE vs the 1.5L ICE in the generation 2 Prius, of which the 2009 was the last model year.

    Why an 09? It's the same generation as your current one.

    There were a LOT of changes and improvements w/the 3rd gen. See the posts by me, Tideland and evpv at Prius versions | PriusChat.

    I'd recommend the third gen Prius ('10). Having the opportunity recently to purchase a Prius, I targeted that year specifically, and really like the result. Any of the third gen will serve you well.

    I really like my '10 Prius 4, (or whatever the designation is) There are many 10s around; shop and ye shall find. At a good price, too. I just saw an 11 Prius 2 down the street for me listed at 19,995. With 27 k
