Hi all has anyone had to store their prius for 7 or 8 months? Does the hybird battery need to be disconnected? Thanks Barnabas
Store the car with the hv battery near full charge (not at) and it will be fine as this is disconnected completely every time you turn off the car. The 12 volt battery should be put on a battery maintainer for the period as this will suffer the most. The car should be raised to take the weight off the tyres if possible to avoid flat spotting the tyres. The fuel should be fine, but if you are concerned run the car down to one blip of the fuel gauge then fill up on your return.
Doesn't even need to be driven just turned on once a week for maybe 30-40 minutes this will keep the 12V and the HV battery healthy. Most likely a full tank of gas would be enough for this.
