Is there a way to disable the horn honking when I lock the car? It doesn't honk when I unlock it, I'd love the same when I lock it. I didn't understand the Gen II Prius discussion on it and I can't find info anywhere else. Thanks!

The horn shouldn't be honking for the Lock/unlocking for the Prius v. It should 'beep'. At least, on the Prius v I have does not honk and it is the stock sks.

I like to think it shouldn't be too. Any idea how to change that?

No idea, since again, mine, out of the dealership was beeping, not honking for the alarm... So no idea why yours is using the car horn.

If it is similar to the regular Gen3 (which I believe to be the case,) then yes, you can lower the volume, or mute it completely using Techstream. I did it on mine...

It appears to be a scan tool from Toyota. This software (or other device you will see mentioned such as ELM or scanguage) interfaces with the car's computer to change the items possible. Personally I'd ask the dealer to do it this close to purchase. I had the back up beep being disabled as a condition of sale but had to tell them how. (sad)

Just talked to the salesman. He said to pop in and a tech would take care of it. Thanks everyone.

My Dodge used to do that but it was easy to change using a combination of the remote and the ignition key. I put up with it for one day before looking for a way to change the behavior. It was in the manual.
